Cynthia M. Summers
Associate Vice President for Student Advocacy


Biography:

Cindy Summers is the Associate Vice President for Student Advocacy and Community Relations in the Division of Student Affairs. Having worked at DePaul University since 1983, Cindy has served in the positions of Dean of Students and Director of Student Life, coordinating the areas of Student Activities, Student Centers, Food Services, and Residence Life. Her current areas focus on advocating for students through the offices of the Dean of Students, University Counseling Services, Adult Student Services, International Student Services and services for Students with Disabilities. 

In her work with the Chicago community, Cindy serves as the Student Affairs liaison to the Chicago Police Department and the Neighborhood Advisory Council. Efforts are designed to strengthen partnerships to enhance the campus environment through facilitating monthly connections between the student community and our Chicago partners. 

Prior to her work at DePaul, Cindy was the Director of Student Counseling at Barat College, and worked in Residence Life at Illinois State University. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication/Education from Illinois State University.

Cindy is a member of National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA); Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE) and a charter member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA).
