Service
One of the most rewarding aspects of membership in fraternities and sororities is service. The chapters show support and responsibility for the community by donating time to various service projects. Some of the service activities include: New Student Service Day, New Student Move-In, Relay for Life, and Campus Wide Service Days.

Social
Fraternities and sororities are social organizations; one of their major goals is to encourage personal development through social interaction. Social functions allow members to develop poise, personality and self-confidence. The Fraternity and Sorority social calendar ranges from informal parties to formal dinners and includes mixers with other organizations. The social programs offered by fraternities and sororities are among the truly unique assets of Fraternity and Sorority life on campus and greatly enhance the college experience. Participation in traditional events such as Homecoming, Greek Week, philanthropic events, and intramural sports demonstrate Greek Unity and the spirit that makes Fraternity and Sorority Life at DePaul so rewarding. The friends made and memories collected by chapter members will remain for years after graduation.

The Power of 2%
Since the founding of the American College fraternity movement in 1776, fraternities have grown to symbolize leadership, independence, scholastic achievement, and service to their various campuses and communities. Fraternity men represent a very small percentage, only 2% of the male population in the United States. However, the 2% is a very powerful group of individuals! Fraternity men have gone on to hold many of the top positions in our nation, from the business world to the political arena.
  • Approximately 80% of the top executives of Fortune 500 companies are fraternity men.
  • The majority (71 %) of those listed in Who's Who in America are fraternity men.
  • 76% of current United States Senators and Congressman are fraternity men.
  • 40% of the 47 Supreme Court Justices since 1910 have been fraternity men.
  • 100 of the 158 cabinet members since 1900 have been fraternity men.
  • All but two United States Presidents since 1825 have been fraternity men.
Each year, thousands of young men and women enter the working world with the competitive advantage of a Fraternity or a Sorority experience and alumni contacts. The opportunities are endless and the benefits speak for themselves.
