The DePaul Activities Board, DAB, is the premiere event-organizing body of DePaul University. Throughout the school year, members of DAB provide DePaul students with a wide variety of events, ranging from annual traditions, such as Homecoming and FEST (spring outdoor concert and festival), to speakers, music, movies, comedy shows, hypnotists, and much more. DAB contributes to campus life in four unique ways:
- Promotes community with and for the entire student population of DePaul University through planning and organizing events
- Creates a positive out of the classroom experience for the student body
- Coordinates events working both solely and in conjunction with other organizations
- Increases active participation on campus, including involvement with DAB
Join DAB and meet new people, make life-long friends, gain event planning and leadership skills, and interact in a professional, exciting and fun setting.
DAB Basics
- DAB is entirely student run and open to ALL students
- Positions of all sizes and responsibility levels are available
- Meetings are held every first Sunday of the Month at 4 PM and then every other Monday at 5 p.m. (Skipping the first week, due to the Sunday Meeting) in the Lincoln Park Student Life Office (Suite 201 of the Student Center) and are open to ALL students
- DAB provides programs at both the Lincoln Park and Loop campuses
- DAB has a professional staff advisor
- DAB members are volunteers
- Events are open to all students, and sometimes to the public
- DAB events are funded by the Student Activity Fee
- Most events are either FREE for students, or are at a nominal cost ranging from $1-$15 for students
