Student organizations must (re)register with the Office of Student Life each year to gain access to the privileges recognition provides. Student organizations are expected to follow the policies and procedures of the Office of Student Life in order to maintain their status.
NEW! Changes in Student Organization Registration Process
In reviewing the process of annual (re)registration with Student Life and recognizing that the level of activity and need for all Student Life resources depends on the organization, (with some never applying for SAF-B funds), Student Life has created two separate categories of student organizations at DePaul.
Beginning with the (Re) Registration/Recognition Cycle for 2008-09, student organizations can choose to either be Registered Student Organizations or Recognized Student Organizations.
Registered Student Organizations: Student organizations that complete all requirements within our current structure will continue to receive full benefits.
Recognized Student Organizations: Student organizations that are seeking minimal resources and benefits from Student Life other than room reservations, Involvement Fair participation, and promotional privileges only have to complete certain requirements.

Note that one of the key differences between a student organization being (re)registered and recognized is eligibility of SAF-B funding.
All student organizations wishing to apply for SAF-B funds at the last hearing of this academic year (for programs between July 1 and November 20, 2008) must be fully (re)registered by May 6th 2008.
Student Organizations can (re)register or become recognized through Student Life by completing the online process through Demon Direct.
