2008 WELCOME WEEK AND BLUE DEMON DAYS

As a new DePaul student, you are invited to participate in DePaul UniversityÂ’s official kick-off to the academic year, Welcome Week and Blue Demon Days!

Activities are abundant during this exciting time! Whether you dance, eat, do community service, see a movie or attend Mass, thereÂ’s something for everyone during Welcome Week and Blue Demon Days.

4:30pm-7pm, BBQ with Men's Soccer (Lincoln Park Campus, Wish Field)

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

10am-2pm, Trip to Lincoln Park Zoo
Meet at Fr. Egan Statue in front of the Student Center in Lincoln Park @ 10am. Sponsored by Residence Hall Council!

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

6pm-11:30pm, Ray Meyer Activities (Lincoln Park Campus, Ray Meyer Fitness & Recreation Center)
Wii Dance Dance Revolution and Xbox Madden and NCAA Basketball
Group Fitness Classes: Crunch at 7:30pm & 9pm and Dance Party at 8pm
Free Play: Basketball and Racquetball (Equipment can be checked out at the front desk.)
Work out on your own!

Chicago's famed Second City comedians come to DePaul! Doors open at 8pm.

3pm-7pm, Taste of DePaul (Lincoln Park Campus, Quad)
Various food from local vendors, music and activities

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

11am-5pm, Bus Trips to Target (Lincoln Park Campus, Sullivan Athletic Center)
Buses depart every half hour (last bus departs at 3:30pm) from the Sullivan Athletic Center.

3:30pm-6:30pm, Real Life Recess (Lincoln Park Campus, Quad)
Join us for Real Life Recess on the Quad! Campus Recreation heads up this event filled with free food, music, fun and games. Other campus departments and off-campus sponsors are involved donating raffle prizes and providing free giveaways. Participate in group fitness classes, instructional programs and various sports challenges and contests. Come meet our club sport teams and see what kind of outdoor equipment we have available. 8pm-10pm, Blue Demon Community Meeting, (Lincoln Park Campus, Sullivan Athletic Center)
All campus meeting for new students. Find out how to get involved, walk away with a variety of giveaways, and find out some of the new & exciting programs we have this year to offer students.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

9:30am-10am, New Student Convocation (Lincoln Park Campus, St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1010 W. Webster Ave.)
Serving as a bookend to graduation, New Student Convocation officially convenes to open the academic year. The convocation ceremony is an informal yet celebratory event designed to welcome new students into the DePaul University community.

10am-4pm, New Student Service Day (Directly following Convocation)
Join new students, faculty, staff, alumni and student leaders for the annual New Student Service Day. Help bring the Vincentian mission to life by spending the day with your classmates serving the Chicago Community!

4:30pm-6:30pm, New Student Celebration Picnic (Lincoln Park Campus, Quad)
Celebrate the Class of 2012 with great food and music on the Quad.

4:30pm-6pm, New Adult Student Welcome Reception (Loop Campus, DePaul Center 11th Floor Gallery)
The Office of Adult Student Affairs will host this reception to welcome all students 24+ years to DePaul. There will be lots of food, give-aways and resource materials available.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

5pm-7pm, LEAD-In! Let's Get This Party Started (Lincoln Park Campus, Student Center 314A)

All DePaul students especially those in or interested in leadership roles are invited to attend this kick off event to network, meet University leaders and receive giveaways, prizes and free food.
