Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get involved?
You can get involved in a variety of ways. Each quarter, approximately 12-14 free workshops and activities will be available for you to attend. The Student Leadership Institute also provides consultation and resources for any group or organization that is planning leadership development activities in their own area.
What kind of time commitment is involved?
Whatever time commitment you want to put into it. Most sessions will be held in the afternoons and evenings and will last for about two hours.
How can I get a certificate of completion?
You can earn a Certificate in Leadership Development which is noted on your official undergraduate college transcript by completing the program during your time at DePaul. Included in the certificate program are: four core workshops, a capstone experience, and elective workshops/programs and approved trainings.  Please see the Program Requirements page for more details.
Can I attend sessions without going for a certificate of completion?
Yes! We anticipate that most participants will just attend a few events that interest them and not go through the entire program.
How do I register for a program?
If you want to attend a program, you can register online.  If you would like assistance with registration, please call the Student Leadership Institute at 773-325-4658, or email us.
Please note that while students are not required to register for workshops in advance, doing so can help to ensure you will be able to attend if more students wish to participate than the room can accommodate.
How can I be kept up to speed on upcoming events?
You can check out our online calendar of events, view the “What’s New” page of our website, call our office, or email us.
Where are your offices located?
We have an office on the Lincoln Park Campus in the Student Center Suite 302. Our Loop Campus office is located on the 11th floor of the DePaul Center Suite 11003. While the Lincoln Park office is open M-F 9am-5pm, the Loop office has limited hours.
