Workshop Registration, Attendance, and Cancellation Policy
Although registration is not required for workshops, students have told us that they appreciate
the opportunity to register in advance and secure a place in the workshops, because the workshops
do sometimes become full. If you do choose to register in advance, but are later unable to attend,
please cancel your registration online as soon as possible.
We understand that emergencies may occur, in which case, please call our office at 773.325.4658 to inform us.
- Registration:

- Students who register in advance for workshops should expect to receive a reminder email a week
in advance of the workshop, and a reminder phone call one business day before the workshop.

- Attendance:

- Each student is required to sign-in upon arrival. If a student does not sign in,
he/she will not receive the SLD credit for that workshop that goes towards the completion
of the Certificate in Leadership Development. An SLI staff member or the facilitator will be
collecting the sign in sheet 15 minutes into the workshop so please be sure to arrive on time.
Students arriving later than 15 minutes after the official start time of the workshop risk
losing their place in the workshop to another student who wishes to participate in the workshop .

Please note that a student who arrives more than 15 minutes late to a
scheduled workshop or leaves more than 15 minutes before the end of the
workshop will not receive credit
for that workshop.
- Cancellation (excused vs. unexcused absences):

- A student who does not cancel their registration for a workshop 3 days prior
will be considered unexcused.

Students who cancel their registration for a workshop 3 days prior
will be considered excused. Students can cancel
registration through their online profiles.

If a student is unexcused for 2 consecutive workshops or three in one quarter,
he/she will be required to have a conversation with a member of SLI's professional
staff prior to registering for or attending any further workshops.
Please note that SLD credits will not be awarded until a meeting takes place.
Waitlist for Workshops:
- Students placed on the waitlist are encouraged to plan for attending
the workshop. Last minute cancellations happen, so we are often able
to accommodate students from the waitlist who show up to a workshop.
