Concern Corner
One of Residence Hall Council's core beliefs is that everyone should be given a chance to express their concerns with their on campus living experience. For this reason, we have instituted a Concern Corner that holds past and present concerns voiced by residents.

Submitting a concern is simple. Fill out this simple form and RHC will get an email. We will then follow up with you once the issue has been resolved.

A

Academic Resources
If students are not sure what academic resources are available on campus, they should talk to their RA. There is also information available in the student planners as well as on the depaul website.
B

Better communication between RAs and RHC
Residence Directors should all have a calendar of campus-wide RHC events. RHC also has a public calendar on the account depaulrhc@gmail.com.
F

Fire alarms
If a resident of a particular building has a concern about the loudness of their fire alarm, Housing Services encourages them to speak with their Facilities Residence Director. All alarms on campus currently meet all federal, state and local regulations. However, we would like to hear from students with specific information about rooms on campus that they think do not have loud enough alarms.

Free activities in Chicago
To find out free activities in Chicago, feel free to ask your RAs. Also, visit the webiste Mayor's Office of Special Events for free activities.

M

Meal Plan money
In order to operate a dining program for residential students, there needs to be a required amount of participation, or dollars in the system. This allows Chartwells to offer the array of hours, services and staffing models. And just like other aspects of the University, it stands in its own annual budget. Since these dollars represent required sales needed to cover the services offered, any meal plan values left on identification cards at the end of the year do not carry over.

Q

Quiet hours
Regular quiet hours in residence halls are 10-9 pm Sundays through Thursdays and 12 am-9 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The times are set in place to provide a middle ground for all residents.
R

RA access to other buildings
If an RA wants to attend a program at another building, they are considered a resident and have another RA or resident sign them in.

Recycling bins, More
Residents should know that DePaul's waste management vendor does sort through all of its trash after it leaves campus. So even recyclables that end up in trash cans are recycled. However, if there is a specific Building or floor where bins are filling up quickly, please provide that feedback to your Facilities Residence Director. http://housing.depaul.edu/current/AreaOffices/index.aspx
S

Student Advocacy RHC is making some changes this quarter and will now have open Senate meetings taking place of General Council meetings. These meetings will be held at 7 pm every other Sunday and after the meeting is held, residents will be welcome to voice any concerns.
W

Washers/dryers in Corcoran, More
Housing Services works with our laundry vendor (AAL) to track usage in all our residence hall laundry rooms. Our reports do not show an increase in Corcoran specifically. If there is a problem with machines not functioning properly, please submit a work order immediately to confirm that Housing knows about the problem. http://housing.depaul.edu/current/WorkOrders/index.aspx
