Judicial Board

Within the student conduct process, residents within campus housing have the option to have their case heard by a panel of peers. This panel consists of students from the residence hall community. They are empowered to determine the facts and outcome of the case as well as sanctions as deemed appropriate

"The purpose of this Judicial Board is to serve as a hearing body for residential students within the disciplinary process of DePaul University and uphold the policies of DePaul University. In executing its duties, this board will protect the interests of the campus community as well as the rights of the students. The Judicial Board will regard each student as an individual deserving attention, consideration, and respect." (Article II of the Judicial Board Constitution)

The actual duties of the Judicial Board are far more varied. Meetings twice a week the Judicial Board is a panel of peers for any students who are accused of violating a policy within campus housing. A panel of students listen to engage in a dialogue with the student(s) and try to find a fair and creative sanctions if the individual(s) are found responsible.
