DePaul Placement Tests

 

All new DePaul students are required to complete placement tests in Math, Writing, and Modern Languages. These placement tests will ensure that students register in a course that best builds on their current skills so that they can succeed at DePaul.


DePaul University will provide alternate testing arrangements to accommodate students with Learning Disabilities and/or Attention Deficit Disorders.  Accommodations are not usually necessary for the English writing test as students are given two days to complete an essay. The most common accommodation is extended time for the Math test.

 

To arrange for alternate placement testing students should:

- Contact the PLuS Program and provide appropriate documentation for their LD or AD/HD
- Discuss with the director of the PLuS Program what accommodations are necessary
 

PLuS will then notify Student Records, and the student will be contacted within 48-hours regarding how to access an online test providing accommodations. To initiate arrangements or for more information, please contact:
