The following list of resources could help faculty, staff, students, and parents learn more about Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorders. It is not all inclusive, nor does it represent any specific theory or approach to LD and AD/HD. The organizations, groups, and educational institutions listed below are suggested as good starting points for anyone who would like to learn more, or research these topics. The annotations for the links are taken directly from that organization's mission statement, or homepage.

Attention Deficit Disorder Association
ADDA's mission is to help people with AD/HD lead happier, more successful lives through education, research, and public advocacy. ADDA is especially focused on the needs of AD/HD adults and young adults with AD/HD.
CHADD
Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) is a national non-profit organization founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with AD/HD.
MSN Health and Fitness AD/HD Health Center
Includes up to date news, articles, and tidbits on AD/HD as well as information such as symptoms, causes, medications and common myths regarding AD/HD.
National Institute of Mental Health - AD/HD Information
NIMH's mission is to reduce the burden of mental illness and behavioral disorders through research on mind, brain, and behavior.

The Learning Disabilities Association of America
The Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) is a national, non-profit organization. Their purpose is to advance the education and general welfare of children and adults of normal or potentially normal intelligence who manifest disabilities of a perceptual, conceptual, or coordinative nature.
Literacy & Learning Disabilities
This collection of resources by the National Center for Adult Literacy and Learning Disabilities provides a single point of access to information on LD issues important to adults with learning disabilities. One can locate resources targeting: adults with learning disabilities and their families, literacy practitioners, employers, human resource and other professionals who work with adults.
The National Center for Learning Disabilities
LD.org is the official Web site of the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). LD.org strives to be an effective, easy-to-use resource for people seeking authoritative information on learning disabilities (LD).
Professionals in Learning Disabilities
Professionals in Learning Disabilities (PLD) is an organization of teachers and related professionals who work with individuals with learning disabilities. PLD offers continuing education seminars to keep members current on assessment, instruction, and policy issues in the field of learning disabilities.
SOAR
SOAR is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to a twofold purpose:
- LD and AD/HD Services (National): To provide adventure based programs and experiential education services to individuals and families dealing with Learning Disabilities and/or Attention Deficit Disorders.
- Community Based Services (North Carolina): To provide adventure based programs and experiential education services to school-aged youth, with particular emphasis on students identified as "high risk" for school failure, delinquency and/or substance abuse.
TeachingLD
TeachingLD is a service of the Division for Learning Disabilities (DLD) of the Council for Exceptional Children. DLD is the largest international professional organization focused on learning disabilities. The purpose of TeachingLD is to provide trustworthy and up-to-date resources about teaching students with learning disabilities.

Center for Applied Special Technology
Founded in 1984 as the Center for Applied Special Technology, CAST has earned international recognition for its development of innovative, technology-based educational resources and strategies based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning.
Universal Design: Applications in Postsecondary Education
Project PACE is a program of Disability Support Services at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The primary objective of this project is to improve the quality of education for students with disabilities through the development and provision of resources, technical assistance and professional development opportunities to faculty, staff and administrators in postsecondary settings.
PASS IT Universal Design Presentations
The University of Minnesota PASS IT project seeks to address a compelling need in higher education by developing a corps of trainers to facilitate professional development workshops in the implementation of Universal Design and Universal Instructional Design in higher education.
Universal Design for Learning at Renton Technical College
The mission of the Office of Instructional Improvement is to advance educational strategies, seek to improve the quality of learning environments, and support Renton Technical College staff as they prepare a diverse student population for work.
Equity and Excellence in Higher Education's Universal Course Design
The E&E website was developed by the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts/Boston, in partnership with the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire and is designed for faculty, by faculty, to help learn about Universal Course Design.
