New students
When you are admitted to DePaul:
- Send to the PLuS Program your latest psychoeducational (diagnostic) evaluation; for details review the program's Policy Guidelines in the 'Forms' section.
- Send to the PLuS Program any other necessary forms. All incoming freshman should complete a 'Case History' form; all transfer students should contact PLuS to request a 'Needs Assessment' form. For help choosing the appropriate forms, go to the 'Apply' section to review them.
- About two weeks after everything is received at PLuS, you should receive an e-mail or phone call from PLuS. To ask about the status of your application at any time, e-mail the PLuS director.
- When you receive information regarding your placement tests from Student Records at DePaul, e-mail PLuS to request alternate placement testing arrangements. For more information, go to the 'Apply' section and review the Student Records Consent Statement.
- During your orientation days, plan to visit PLuS; the best time to visit PLuS would be at the end of your second day. By then, you will also have registered and you can discuss your registration with the PLuS director. Contact PLuS to let us know when you will be visiting.
- After the orientation days, and as the information about DePaul and PLuS starts to make sense, finalize your decision as to the services you would like to receive from PLuS. Review the services PLuS offers and then contact the PLuS director and inform her of your final decision.
This is very important if you would like to have weekly sessions with a PLuS Clinician (LD specialist).
This service has limited availability and, on occasion, there may be a waiting list for this service. - If you are requesting clinician services complete and send the appropriate PLuS Fee form; for details review the 'PLuS Fee Forms' section.
- Review:
- the PLuS' Policy Guidelines, and
- the Exam Proctoring Procedures. Then bring to PLuS the last page of the Policy Guidelines document, signed indicating that you agree with PLuS' policies
- Make a note of all the questions you have regarding PLuS and DePaul to ask the PLuS director or your PLuS clinician when you return at DePaul.
Also, make sure you review the 'Tips to College Success'
