About PLuS

Students who are interested in participating in the PLuS program must be admitted to DePaul University first. There is a separate application for the PLuS Program which should be submitted after the student has been accepted by the University. On rare occasions and after consideration of exceptional circumstances, the Director of PLuS may advocate for the student with the Office of Admission. PLuS will not initiate any contact with the Office with Admissions unless the student meets with the PLuS director to discuss any relevant information and to give his/her written permission.

Once enrolled in PLuS, students take courses in the regular DePaul University curriculum; no special courses for students with LD and/or AD/HD are offered. Students may choose to work with a PLuS clinician (LD specialist) for one or two hours per week. The focus of those sessions is on remediation of basic skills, instruction in compensatory strategies, and study skills. The PLuS clinicians are not tutors. Please note that availability of clinicians is limited.

The students' participation in PLuS is confidential. The only people who know of the students' participation in the program are those the students choose to tell. The staff and Director of PLuS will discuss the students' participation in the program, and academic performance at DePaul University, only if the student provides written permission.
