Goals

The following Student Affairs goals reflect our core identity as a division and forecast the type of learning community we wish to develop for both students and Student Affairs educators. These goals also reflect our effort to become better educators and to recognize the changing needs of the students and families we serve.

At the same time, the landscape of higher education is changing rapidly, and DePaul reflects these changes in growing numbers, modifying traditional learning, and shifting demographics. If we are to maintain these goals and Vincentian identity over time and in the face of such changes, we must develop and implement a strategic plan; thus, the "strategic initiatives.

These long-term plans represent Student Affairs' blueprint for supporting learning, advocacy, service, and diversity well into the 21st century.

Goal 1- Students and staff will have new experiences and learning opportunities that help the university community understand diversity and combat discriminatory beliefs and behaviors.

Goal 2- Student transitions will be enhanced and strengthened through comprehensive new student preparation programs and integrated academic partnerships.

Goal 3- Students will have extraordinary co-curricular learning opportunities

Goal 4- Students will be given the information and tools needed to navigate the university system with ease.

Goal 5- Student Affairs will implement sophisticated measurement tools and accountability standards to establish benchmarks, evaluate success, and identify areas for improvement or change.
