Becoming a Peer Mentor

Peer Mentors are responsible for working closely with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. With extensive training from the Staff and from personal university experience, Mentors build on their enhancement strategies to provide guidance for first year and transfer students at DePaul University.

Peer Mentors of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs serve as guides and resources to our S.T.A.R.S. program participants for one entire academic school year. They meet weekly with the STARS coordinator to share issues and garner more resources for the participants. They conduct one-on-one sessions with their specific students in order to assist them with their transitions and to help them navigate the DePaul system. They also facilitate group outings with their students and expose them to the many different facets of University life.

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs is continually interested in training new individuals to become peer mentors. Full-time students that have been at DePaul University for at least a year with a grade point average above 3.0 are encouraged to apply. If you are interested, please look out for .
