Letters of Recommendation:
*Note: The earlier you request a letter of recommendation from a professor, the better. Some websites suggest that you
provide a copy of your personal statement with your request for a recommendation. While this is ideal, waiting until you have a polished personal
statement for each school may leave you and your professor with too little time to submit a good letter of recommendation. It is best
therefore to submit as much as you can to your professors at least four weeks in advance.

Financing your education:
*START SEARCHING EARLY: Depending on the program, your admissions application deadline may be in March, but many
scholarship and grant deadlines are in December, January, and February. So even if you are unsure which particular school
you will be applying to, please look and apply for grants and scholarships as soon as possible.*

Graduate Fellowships:
*Please see a more detailed list of fellowships and scholarships (updated each quarter) in the Scholarships binder located in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.
