Family Weekend 2008
DePaul's
Family Association Invites you to Save the Date for
Family Weekend 2008, October 17-19
Dear DePaul Parents & Family
Members,
It’s
hard to believe, but it’s time for another DePaul Family Weekend on
October
17-19,
2008. We sincerely hope you will join us.
We
attended our first Family Weekend last October, about six weeks after we
had tearfully left our then freshman and only child, Jack, at the big
University in the even bigger “Big City.” We were of course anxious to
visit him and see how he was adjusting to his new life, but we were also
anxious to learn more about the University and the city he now called
home.
We were
not disappointed then, and we do not think you will be disappointed this
year. There are tours, cultural events, athletic events, open houses at
various University offices and buildings, and an abundance of
informative programs that will help you and your student get the most
out of the DePaul experience academically, socially, and spiritually.
And don’t forget to take advantage of the various brunches and
receptions where you can meet other parents and share your experiences
as well.
Adjusting to college life can be tough for both student and parents, but
we have found that DePaul University and its annual Family Weekend have
provided us with the tools, information, and services to make this
adjustment easier. And it’s great fun, too! And a great excuse to come
to Chicago! We hope to see you in October.
