Muslim Life
on Campus |
Our Muslim life ministry supports and enriches Muslim student life on campus by providing a variety of spiritual, religious, and educational programming. Among our regular programs are weekly Friday prayers (Salat al-Jumu'ah) and study circles (Halaqas) in addition to Iftar (breaking of the fast) meals in Ramadan and campus celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha

Lincoln Park Muslim Life Center
The Muslim Life Center opened in Fall of 2009. Located on the third floor of the Lincoln Park Student Center (room 329), the Center features a prayer room (Musallah), a lounge area, and an office for the Chaplain for Muslim Life.
The Center also offers a host of opportunities for Muslims and non-Muslims to learn more about Islam. There are regular classes which are organized and led by the Chaplain as well as some of the Muslim student leaders. In addition to these classes, anyone can set up an appointment with the Muslim Chaplain to ask questions, discuss different issues, or to be connected to other resources in the University and the broader Chicago Muslim community.
The student lounge is available for students to study or to meet and talk with each other. Although meetings and classes occasionally occur in the lounge, it also serves as the center for Muslim community life on the Lincoln Park Campus. It is a place for the diverse DePaul Muslim community to support and assist each other as well as a place for non-Muslims to learn more about Islam and develop relationships with the Muslim community. |
