University Ministry | I'm Interested in Community Service

	Mission	Inspired by the example of St. Vincent de Paul, University Ministry Community Service seeks to empower students to promote the inherent human dignity of all people, especially marginalized communities, by educating students to cultivate relationships rooted in service, faith and justice.

	Vision	University Ministry Community Service will provide students with service opportunities to communities in need, while encouraging students to develop their faith lives in light of their service involvement. Inspired by the example of St. Vincent de Paul, students will be engaged in direct service, advocacy, and consciousness raising, while working towards building a more just society. Through reflection, students will find a safe place to examine questions of social justice. University Ministry Community Service is committed to working collaboratively with all areas of the university, especially those engaged in community service, to further DePaul's Catholic-Vincentian-Urban mission.

	Service Opportunities	Service Immersions Spend your break in service to others, building community, and learning about the complex issues facing our world. Travel to various sites, including some in other countries. Vincent & Louise House Live in a Catholic intentional community committed to service and justice on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. DePaul Community Service Association (DCSA) Volunteer at one of 19 community service sites located throughout Chicago. These are student-led service opportunities within easy reach of our campus. Service Days Vincentian Service Day gathers 1,000 DePaul volunteers to serve community partners' needs on the first Saturday of May. Come join us! Community Service in the Loop! Serving those in need is a core Vincentian value. University Ministry in the Loop seeks to help groups and individuals connect to service opportunities that will give then a chance to reflect, grow, and give back to the community
