Rodrigo Sebastián Torres, M.A
Graduate Coordinator
“I was born and raised in México City and Zamora,
Michoacán, México. I received my formal education in México,
the United States, and France, earning a Bachelor’s degree
in Russian Studies from Hamilton College, a Master’s degree
in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a
second Master’s degree in Clinical Child Psychology from
DePaul University. I am currently working on my Doctoral
degree in Clinical Child Psychology at DePaul University.
I have been the graduate coordinator for the Office of
LGBTQA Student Services at DePaul since late October, 2006
and have been enjoying the varied challenges and pleasures
of this position. I have particularly enjoyed meeting and
working with students who are vested in making DePaul a
truly welcoming, validating, and success promoting
environment for all, regardless of sexual attraction,
orientation and identity, and/or gender expression and
identity. In addition to my position as Graduate Coordinator
for the office, I am an extern in pediatric neuropsychology
at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of
Illinois Medical Center and a teaching fellow for the
Department of Psychology at DePaul University.”
Porsche S. Rice
Administrative Assistant
“I was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. In
April 2000, I received an Honorable Discharge from the
United States Navy after three years of service with tours
in Great Lakes, IL; Camp LeJeune, NC; San Diego, CA). I
earned an Associate of Arts Degree, with Honors, in General
Education from Harold Washington College in June 2006 and am
currently working on my Baccalaureate Degree in Secondary
Education, with a concentration in Social Science, at DePaul
University.
Once I complete my degree from DePaul University, I hope to
work as a Junior High School teacher or as a school social
worker. After I gain some work experience, I hope to
continue in my education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in
Social Science. My ultimate goal is to teach at the college
level.
I have been the Administrative Assistant for the Office of
LGBTQA Student Services at DePaul since early October, 2007,
but have been involved with the LGBTQA community for several
years prior. I look forward to bringing more resources to
the office, as well as providing a different perspective on
issues specific to the LGBTQA community.”
