The Office of
LGBTQA Student Services at DePaul University
Proudly Presents
The 1st Annual LGBTQA Month at DePaul University
(May 6-27, 2008)
The 1st Annual Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, and Allies (LGBTQA) Month at
DePaul University establishes an event precedent at DePaul
University whereby members of the LGBTQA communities at DePaul
develop and implement a month-long series of LGBTQA focused
educational and social events during the month of May. The
respective events that make-up the month have as a unifying
element the exposition of the complexity and richness of LGBTQA
communities and a celebration and validation of the diversity
and resilience therein.
Wherever possible and to the best of
our ability, the events for this month-long celebration were
developed within a framework of collaboration and co-sponsorship
between the Office of LGBTQA Student Services at DePaul
University (i.e., the Office) and organizations, offices, and
departments from across DePaul University. This month-long event
serves to meet the mission of the Office and underscores DePaul
University’s commitment to affirming “the central place of
diversity” in its mission as articulated in its plan for
academic enrichment (i.e., VISION twenty12).
