The International Student Office (ISO) issues various types of letters to international students in F-1 and J-1 visa status. If you would like to request a letter from the international student office, you must complete the Document Request Form  and submit it to the ISO. The following are examples of documents you may request: 

• Letter verifying legal full-time F-1 or J-1 status
  
  

• Letter to assist you in obtaining a Social Security Card 
  
  

• Letter verifying your financial resources to assist you in renting an apartment 
  
  

• Letter verifying your address to assist you in opening a bank account 
  
  

• Signature on your SEVIS I-20 or SEVIS DS- 2019 for travel purposes
