In recent years, the
Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
has been targeting colleges and universities for
illegal downloading. At first the RIAA was
merely notifying the institutions of these
behaviors, but now they are pursuing direct
legal actions against college students. In 2007,
over 30 DePaul students were sued by this
organization. The Dean of Students Office and
Residential Education hope to raise awareness
about the potential consequences for illegal
downloading.
In Fall Quarter 2007, we partnered with Jason
Greenberg’s class “Design in Action.” A student,
Emily Bentrup, designed the following print
campaign that was unveiled in the Winter Quarter
2008.
