Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast
Each year, the Cultural Center hosts a breakfast dedicated to honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other heroes from the civil rights movement. Guest speakers have included Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Ruben "Hurricane" Carter, Rev. Michael Eric Dyson, Loretta Ross and civil rights activist Diane Nash.
Cultural Expressions
Cultural Expressions is an engaging program that focuses on 'cultures of origin.' It is designed to promote cultural awareness and education through music, art, poetry, dance, film & craft work.
Festival of Lights Program
The popular Festival of Lights program provides opportunities for students involved with the Cultural Center Allocation Fund to express and share their various cultures and learn about the traditions of others. Groups representing African American, Asian, Ethnic Greek, Jewish, Latino/a, and Muslim cultures present a festival or holiday celebrated within their respective communities. The celebration also includes symbolic artifacts, music, cuisine and performance.
St. Patrick's Day Luncheon
An annual celebration of Irish culture, the Cultural Center treats the DePaul community to educational discussions about the historic ties between Ireland and the United States, as well as Irish music, art, film and cuisine.
